With a campus located in Delhi, India, Sharda University is keen to build stronger ties with Malawi, particularly in the realm of higher education.
During the briefing, Rahul Pal, the International Relations Officer for Sharda University, emphasized the institution’s inclusive approach towards international students. “We are pleased to offer a 50% scholarship to all international students,” Pal announced, highlighting the university’s dedication to making quality education more accessible. He noted that since 2017, Sharda University has welcomed approximately 300 Malawian students, signaling a growing interest and demand for its educational programs.
The collaboration between the Ministry of Higher Education and Sharda University is significant, particularly as the government of Malawi seeks to empower its citizens through education. Mphatso Nkuonera, Public Relations Officer for the ministry, reinforced this sentiment, stating, “The university has facilitated an incredible opportunity for Malawian students by allowing them to pay their registration fees in Malawian Kwacha. This flexibility is a tremendous relief for students and their families.”
Malawi’s Vision 2063 underscores the importance of skilled labor in fostering national development, and the Ministry of Higher Education has forged a memorandum of understanding with various international institutions, including Sharda University. Nkuonera urged the general public to recognize the legitimacy and significance of this partnership, which aims to enhance educational prospects for Malawians.
In addition to the scholarships and flexible payment options, Sharda University is exploring the possibility of establishing a campus and hospital in Malawi. This initiative could expand access to higher education and healthcare resources, benefiting countless students and the broader community.
As Malawian students consider their educational futures, Sharda University’s robust scholarship offerings and support for local currency payments present an attractive pathway to success. The university continues to work diligently with local stakeholders to create lasting opportunities for the next generation of Malawian leaders.
