Each School of Excellence is designed to accommodate 720 students and will be established in all 34 education districts throughout Malawi.
The project marks a significant step towards achieving the country’s 2063 educational goals, as outlined by President Chakwera, which focus on elevating the educational system to meet global standards. The Schools of Excellence will prioritize nurturing talent and providing a stimulating learning environment for Malawi’s brightest young minds.
The Malawi government is fully funding the initial phases of the project, which will include Schools of Excellence in Mangochi, Lilongwe, and Rumphi. However, Minister Wirima expressed gratitude for any additional support from private partners and donors to enhance and sustain the program.
With this initiative, President Chakwera’s administration aims to foster a new generation of leaders and innovators who will drive Malawi’s development forward, aligning with national aspirations for a prosperous future.
